Metaxas family appears to be a well established and a strong socioeconomically family who had developed strong bonds with the community in Harbin and Greece. The father Gerasimos Antypas (Corfu1864 - Harbin 1932) was the owner of of Antypas vodka factory in Harbin, China, which after his death was inherited by his daughter Maria Metaxa and undertaken by his son in law Spiros Metaxas.
The first box (1) includes an extensive series of handwritten letters (in Greek) from daughter Maria and husband Spiros Metaxa (Athens - Kefalonia) to Gerasimo Antypa (Harbin) 1927-1931. Correspondence include weather reports from Greece, information about the local flu which had affected Μaria, the financial situation of Spiros Metaxas' salary, and often reminiscing her mother Anastasia Gerasimou Antypa Vrettos. Letters also include information about Maria's piano lessons' progress at Athens Conservatoire.
This box also includes the will and diseased estate of Gerasimos Antypas who left to his daughter real estate in Kefalonia and the Antypas vodka factory in Harbin, and additionally: the account books of the factory in handwritten in Greek 1931-1935, book with expenses ( in Russian) in manila folder, 1931-1932. folder of Antipas Vodka newspaper advertisements and related correspondence;
family business, financial and genealogical records and papers, ca. 1931-1941;
