Title
St Mary's High School, 36 miles west of Sydney, is the first Australian school to include a five year course in Indonesian studies into its high school curriculum. The course which began in 1963 includes both the lanaguage and history of the Indonesian people. Two other schools, Narrabundah High School in Canberra and East Hills High in Sydney both started to teach bahase Indonesia this year (1964) - teacher Mr Vernon Turner, who graduated in Indonesian and Malay studies at the University of Sydney, teaches his first year class at St Mary's High School [photographic image] / photographer, J Fitzpatrick. 1 photographic negative: b&w, acetate
