Description from source
-
The Chinese Citizens' Society of Melbourne, opened a school for the teaching of their ancestral language, which has proved an outstanding success from its inception. Originally intended for children only, the demand has been so great that special classes have had to be arranged for adults as well. All lessons are free - Miss Marcelle Grandin (left) and Miss Betty Chin Quan (centre) from St Kilda Melbune, are taken through Cantonese characters by the teacher at the new language class, Mr Leslie Kong from Hong Kong [photographic image] / photographer, Don Edwards. 1 photographic negative: b&w, acetate
