Theme: Life of a Farmer. Joseph Refalo was born on the 23rd of November 1921 at Victoria, Gozo. He had 5 siblings. His father was a farmer whilst his mother was a housewife. For a time, in the 1950s he had emigrated to Sydney, Australia were he worked at a glass factory. He also moved to Queensland, Australia for a higher paying job. In Gozo he used to work for the government and as a farmer. Apart from the time he spent in Australia, he had always lived at Xaghra, Gozo. He had 12 children and his occupation at the time of the interview was still that of a farmer.
