Title
Collection of 27 original monochrome PHOTOGRAPHS; ca.1920-1930; showing a Greek family celebrating weddings, parties, meals etcetera; purchased from Katerina Koutsias ' shop, Plaka, Athens, 1984 and used as the model for Imogene Zanthou's ' invented ' family in ' SMYRNA '; plus a Kodak ( orange and red ) photo folder with Greek writing, ca.1930s; photos mounted individually on grey paper inside cleat plastic sleeves
Box 26 includes material on Smyrna, a novel by Tony Maniaty - part of Tony Maniaty aggregated collection of records (3 parts). To be noted that only box 26 includes Greek manuscripts.
Box includes a film tape of Smyrna, photos, original and copies depicting Greek sceneries and other photos looking at the Turkish influence in Greece with descriptions; photos of Smyrna, Larissa, Volos, Thessaloniki, Greeks in traditional folk costumes, photos of rebetes (Greek musicians).
Box also includes a personal collection of photos from Greece, Turkey, and Australia, and personal correspondence with family members. Also a theatric book in Greek (Toυ Koυτρούλη ο γάμος), and a template of a Greek teacher's book including dried spring Greek flowers from Mani (very fragile) that have kept their fragrance alive.
