1. 11 June 1791, to M. Liotard, chief gardener at the Botanic Gardens, Grenoble, announcing his nomination and election as fellow of the Society of Naturalists, and discussing botanical activities. 2. 26 June 1791, to M. Liotard?, announcing that the diploma has been left at a bookseller's for forwarding and discussing botanical activities. The postcript states that Labillardière is to be the botanical naturalist on the expedition in search of La Pérouse, which is to depart for the South Seas in August, and during which he hopes to amass "an immense collection". 3. August 1791, to M. de Chenaux at Grenoble, announcing his imminent departure for Brest and the La Pérouse expedition, and requesting that he continue collecting plants.
