Andrea Napoleone was a captain doctor prisoner of war in India for two years. In 1943 he was transferred to Australia for detention in different camps for another four years. He writes this epistolary diary to his girlfriend who awaits him with confidence in Italy. In the diary Napoleone writes his personal reflections on his experience as a POW. He expresses his emotions, from love for her fiancée to loneliness and frustration for this life in captivity. Napoleone was born in Barano d'Ischia (NA) in Italy in 1909 and died in 2005.
