103 pages, paper ink handwritten. Includes: Manuscript of a commonplace book, containing transcripts of extracts from her reading.
Fisher Library Rare Books and Special Collections copy has bookplate: "Harry F. Chaplin".
Three-quarter bound in black calf with marbled paper over boards and endpapers.
A small exercise book of 103 pages, numbered consecutively by the diarist and completely filled with extracts from her reading. The pages are closely written transcriptions from the writings of Scott, Wordsworth, Shelley, Carlyle, Milton, Disraeli, and others. Some selections from Lamartine are written in French.
