A letter written by Charles Woss, a German speaking immigrant from Austria, to his family and friends. The letter 'makes explicit mention of the brutality that characterised the earliest encounters between the indigenous Buandik people and the few white settlers in the Rivoli Bay area', including the murder of Aborigines on Rivoli Bay Station in 1848, where Woss was working.
