Part 1 [ie nos 1-24] contains biographical details of 20 navigators who explored the northern hemisphere incl. Francis Drake, James Cook, Sebastian Cabot. Majority are Englishmen. Part 2 [ie nos 25-80] contains short descriptions of islands in all oceans below the equator, incl. latitude, longitude, climate, islands, land masses not covered elsewhere.
The discoveries of Cook with his associates are acknowledged throughout. Extensive coverage given to Terra Australis, Nieuw Holland, Van Diemens Land, Nieuw Zealand, Norfolks Eiland.
