De "DaiIy Chronicle" verneemt uit Melbourne, dat de commissaris voor de immigratie een groot complot aan het licht gebracht beeft, dat ten deel had de beperkende bepalingen der immigratie-wet te ontduiken en Chineezen in Australië binnen te smokkelen. Bij dit complot waren ook blanken betrekken, die groote winsten maakten met dezen "smokkelhandel."

The Daily Chronicle reports from Melbourne that the Immigration Commissioner has uncovered a major conspiracy that involved evading the restrictive provisions of the Immigration Act and smuggling Chinese into Australia. Also involved in this plot were whites, who made large profits from this "smuggling trade."
