Abstract: Since the big immigration wave of 1950s, Mascot has been a strong Greek working community. In 1973 the Greek community founded a Greek language school, a Greek dancing school, and 12 Greek football teams of all ages in Mascot, and since then they have all been actively functioning to today.

The Mascot Greek community has been closely involved with the Greek festival of Sydney and the Greek Orthodox Community of Sydney.
