Full title: Abel Tasman journal titled `Extract uittet journael van Abel Janszoon Tasman bij hem selff int ontdecken van't onbekende Zuijlant gehouden', edited with English translation by P. K. Roest, and J.E. Heeres' translation arranged in parallel columns, 1927.
1 volume of textual material, and cartographic material - manuscript copy. The original extract is located in the Mitchell Library at Safe 1/72.
The extract, known as the Huydecoper manuscript, having been in the possession of the Huydecoper van Maarseven en Nigtevecht family for many years, is signed by F.J. Visscher, by whom also the two maps were drawn. The translation by J.E. Heeres was made from a manuscript in the State Archives, Rijks-Archief, at the Hague, and is signed by Tasman. The chief results of the expedition were the discovery of Tasmania, New Zealand, Tonga and Fiji Islands.
