Correspondence in connection with the presentation of a sword of honor by his admirers in Australia, 1861; List of subscribers to the Sword of Honor presented to General Garibaldi by his admirers in Australia (Melbourne : Printed at the "Punch" General Printing Office, 1861). Consists of three letters: 1. Letter from James Hudson, British Legation, Turin, to Messrs Smith, Martelli and Dardanelli, Melbourne. Dated 8 August 1861. Advises that he has received the sword and forwarded it to Garibaldi. 2. Letter from Garibaldi to James Smith, A. Martelli, and B. Dardanelli, Acting Committee for the Subscribers to the Sword of Honor. Dated 19 August 1861. In Italian. Thanks them for the sword; On second page is a letter from Augusto Vecchi (aide de camp) to Martelli, telling of Garibaldi's pleasure at receiving the sword. Dated 19 August 1861. In Italian.
