"Στὰ γαλανὰ τοῦ Αἰγαίου νερά προβάλλει ένα νησί με χαρά ποὺ ἀντικρύζει τὴν ᾿Ανατολή καὶ τ᾿ ὁλόχαρο κύμα φιλεῖ. Εἶν᾿ τὸ δικό μας νησάκι αὐτὸ ἀπὸ τὰ ἄλλα τὸ πιὸ ζηλευτό μὲ τὸ Μανδράκι καὶ τὴν Παλαμεριά, Ρῶ, Διακοῦρι, Πηγὴ καὶ Ψωραδιά.

Πῶς περνοῦνε ὁλοένα, ἀπ᾿ τὴ θύμηση ξανά Καὶ μὲ μάτια δακρυσμένα, πάντα ὁ νοῦς μας ἐκεῖ γυρνά.

Στὸ μακρυνό μας ὡραῖο νησί Πώχουμε πάντα ἐλπίδα χρυσή Μὲ τὰ γοργὰ τοῦ ἀνέμου φτερά Νὰ ξαναδούμε ἄλλη μια φορά. Μ' αὐτὸ τὸν πόθο βαθειά μέσ᾿ τὴν καρδιά Περνοῦν τὰ χρόνια μέσ᾿ τὴν ξενητιά Καὶ μὲ λαχτάρα ὁ καθεὶς περισσή Νὰ δῆ προσμένει τὸ ὡραῖο μας νησί,

Πῶς περνοῦνε ὁλοένα, ἀπ᾿ τὴ θύμηση ξανά Καὶ μὲ μάτια δακρυσμένα, πάντα ὁ νοῦς μας ἐκεῖ γυρνᾶ."
Translation 
"In the blue waters of the Aegean, an island stands out with joy, which faces the East and is kissed by the happy wave. It is our island that is the most enviable of the others, with Mandraki and Palmeria, Rho, Diakouri, Pigi and Psoradia.

How they pass each time, from the memory again And with tearful eyes, our mind always returns there.

To our distant beautiful island We always fly golden hope With the swift wings of the wind Let's meet again one more time. With this longing deep in the heart The years go by in the strangeness And with a longing everyone waits to see our beautiful island,
